Most of my prints are created using a mix of techniques. I usually start with an etching plate or woodblock. Techniques like nature print , embossing, monotype or Chine collé are added in the printing process building up the image. Generally the prints in such series are one- offs and are not printed in edition.
The Water Garden series was created in 2012 and expresses dreamlike underwater landscapes. Each work of the 12 prints in the series is an unique work. For each print the starting point was an etched plate that was altered for the next work in the series.
Techniques: Etching, Aquatint, Soft Ground, Chine Colle, Monotype, Nature print, Hand colouring.
Nature printing is done directly from collected plants and other natural materials. I collect and choose leaves, plants, roots for their textures and print-ability resulting in very fine details in the final work.
